Are You Coming Yet?

Good morning, baby girl!

You are 38 weeks along now and I'm so anxious for you to come! I think I ask your daddy, 'Is she coming yet?' about every 10 minutes and I am dreaming about you more consistently now. I have no memory of what you looked like in my dream last night, but I remember that you were perfect and that it was such a beautiful thing to hold you in my arms. Soon that dream will be reality and it really couldn't come fast enough. I have a feeling these next days until your birth are going to be suuuper long while we wait for the news that you are coming, and EVERY phone call or text is going to make me jump with anticipation. And guess what? every minute, week, and year we've been waiting for you will be absolutely worth it.

Love you SO much,
Mommy

Clara Says

I came across this poem the other day from Shel Silverstein's new book, Every Thing On It. The poem is called "Jake Says."

     Yes I'm adopted
     My folks were not blessed
With me in the usual way.

     But they picked me,
     They chose me,
     From all the rest,
Which is lots more than most kids can say.

I hope that you will understand how much you are loved because you were adopted, not despite it. We all love you so very much!

Can't wait to see you soon!

Love,
Dad

Your Nursery

Little One,

Your nursery is finally done (with the exception of newborn pictures being hung)! I really love how it turned out and I can't wait to bring you home to it. This is where we will read books and sing together, change your bum :), and rock and cuddle in the same chair my mom rocked me in. I can't wait for those sweet moments! I feel so blessed that I get to be your mommy and look forward to it every minute of every day.

^^^Your birth momma made you this beautiful night light ^^^
Love you, Clara.
Mommy

Forever

I can't wait for the special day when you become ours forever. I'm so grateful for the priesthood and sealing power on the earth!

Love you, my little! Mommy

Crazy Wonderful Thought

Hello beautiful girl, I just wanted to say that I love you :) You are going to be here so soon and I couldn't be more excited to meet you and to start telling you 'I love you' in person. Your daddy and I are literally counting down the days and are busily making sure that we have everything ready for you when you get here. Even though I hope you grow a few weeks longer in your birth mommy's tummy, it's crazy to think that you could be here any day. Of course, its a lovely, absolutely wonderful and joyful kind of crazy thought. And it's the only thing I can think about. I've never been happier. Love you so much, sweet girl! Mommy

Role Models

Dear Little One,

You and I are so lucky to have such incredible women in our lives. The women that love you and care for you are truly outstanding role models for you. I hope that you will follow their examples and look to them for guidance and motivation. Of course I'm talking about your Mommy and Birth Mom.

Your mom is the most wonderful person I have ever met. She is so loving, kind, gentle, and sweet. She is so sensitive to other people's feelings and would never do anything to ever hurt anyone. She listens to the Spirit and always radiates the Light of Christ. She is gorgeous and makes me feel like a million bucks when I hold her hand. She is really smart; she's learned several languages, she was the first one in her family to go to college, and she's a self-taught photographer. She loves to read and has a way with words that she can clearly explain complex things, provide comfort always in the right way, and she always does that with an eternal perspective. She has such great judgment and is 100% trustworthy. She works really hard for you and our family. Right now she works 3 jobs while I'm in school so that we can give you everything. She's also really talented. She paints and draws, plays the piano, cooks and bakes, sews and crafts, she's an interior decorator, a graphic designer, and a photographer. I promise you that she will take great care of you and will always love you. Just like she has provided security for me in my life, she will do the same for you. I feel like I can take on the world with her by my side. She can be your rock, if you will let her. She is so strong and has gone through some very difficult trials. But she understands the Gospel of Jesus Christ and will teach you how it can bless your life, just as it has hers. Your mom is the only person who I feel really understands my deepest feelings and emotions and has helped me through some difficult times. She will do the same for you too if you are open and honest with her. She loves you more than you will ever know. By being close to her, she makes me want to be a better person. And since I want you to be your best, I hope you will always stay close to your mom.

Although I don't know your birth mom as well as I know your mom, I can't say enough about her either. She also loves you more than you'll ever know. She is doing the hardest thing she'll ever do all because of how much she loves you. She is one of the strongest, bravest, and most selfless people I've ever met. She takes such great care of you right now. Just like your mom, she is loving, kind, smart, and talented. She has such a beautiful life ahead of her. As you grow up she will show you how to be courageous and what it means to be a true friend. She knows what it means to sacrifice for someone you love, because she has for you. She puts other people's feelings and needs before her own. Plus, she's hilarious and so much fun. You will learn a lot from her.

We are both so lucky to have them in our lives. You are so blessed to be surrounded by great women who will be your role models. Not only your mom and birth mom, but also all the other incredible examples in your life like you grandmas and aunts. I hope you will follow their examples and stay close to them. I am so grateful for your mom and birth mom and am such a better man because of them. You are so precious to all of us and we just can't wait for you to be here. I want the best for you, and as you grow up, you will also become a beautiful woman who others will look up to.

I love you,
Dad

Nothing Better

There are no words to explain how completely you have my heart. I'm not even officially a momma yet, but I can tell you already that it's my favorite job ever and I wouldn't trade it for the world. You make me so crazy happy - I've never known anything like this. What a beautiful thing, how precious, how sacred it is to me. I feel so honored to be able to be your mommy.

Love you, beautiful girl.
